Cold-coiled compression

Springs

Scope and limits

Cold-coiled compression — geometry, declared design limits and explicit qualification gaps. Cylindrical round wire, uniform active coils, axial load, small helix angle, linear elastic material. End geometry, buckling and loaded diameters need separate evidence. Material/heat treatment, tolerances, surface condition, residual stress, relaxation, corrosion, operating temperature, fatigue life and production tests remain unverified.

DIN EN 13906-1:2013-11

Cylindrical helical compression spring design

Source scope
Round-wire cylindrical compression with axial loading. Public cold-coiled scope: d ≤ 20 mm, active turns ≥ 2, index 4–12.
Implementation in Prufi
Public cold-coiled dimensional scope implemented; hot-coiled numerical limits, normative stress/fatigue/buckling calculations and tolerance tables are not implemented.

ISO 22705-1:2021

Spring measurement and testing: cold-formed compression

Source scope
Cold-formed round-wire helical compression measurement; dynamic testing excluded.
Implementation in Prufi
Measurement context only. STEP screens do not replace physical testing.
