Thermal cutting — Classification, geometrical specification and quality tolerances

Source scope
Public abstract lists laser cutting at 0.5–32 mm, plasma at 0.5–150 mm and flame cutting at 3–300 mm.
Implementation in Prufi
Published laser, plasma and flame thickness ranges are screened for orthogonal rectangular blanks and verified flat constant extrusions with through-holes, slots or planar/cylindrical outlines. Blind, stepped, tapered and folded stock remains unassessed. Explicit process selection only; no surface-quality tolerances or conformity assessment.

STEP examples for this check

Geometry preview: Laser stock: 2 mm

Laser cutting · CC0-1.0

Laser stock: 2 mm

Process scope example

Inspect the 2 mm stock edge. Selected process: laser; the published ISO 9013 thickness scope is 0.5–32 mm. The shape itself is a valid blank.

Dimensions (approx.): 80 × 100 × 2 mm

Expected check result

PRU-069: no scope notice expected; this does not establish cut quality.

No finding expected

Laser cutting · CC0-1.0

Laser stock: 40 mm

Process scope example

Inspect the 40 mm stock edge. Selected process: laser; the published ISO 9013 thickness scope is 0.5–32 mm. The shape itself is a valid blank.

Dimensions (approx.): 240 × 280 × 40 mm

Expected check result

PRU-069: expect an informational scope notice, not a manufacturing rejection.
